Q. I am currently in 'Current, Active' license status. How much continuing education do I need to renew and how is it broken down?
All appraiser designations, in a current status, must have 30 hours of continuing education. The 30 hours must include the following: 3-hour core law, 3-hour Supervisor/Trainee, 7-hour National USPAP course, taught by an AQB certified instructor, and 17 hours in general subjects relevant to the modern practice of appraisal.

Q. Can I take all 30 hours online?
Yes. Gold Coast Professional Schools appraisal online continuing education courses are approved by the state of Florida. Our continuing education courses vary from 3 hours to 7 hours each and are taught by an AQB certified instructor.

Q. My license has been in 'Involuntary Inactive' status since 2000. How much continuing education do I need to renew and how is it broken down?

Q. I am currently Involuntary Inactive since I did not renew in 2002. How much continuing education do I need to renew and how is it broken down?

Q. Do I just pay the fee to renew my Involuntary Inactive license?
No, you must complete the required education and then pay the necessary fees.

Q. I did not receive a renewal notice but I just received a letter about my continuing education credits from the DBPR. What is this about?
The continuing education deficiency letter shows the education credits that have been reported to the department. If you have completed additional hours you may check DBPR's Online Services at www.MyFloridaLicense.com to verify your current continuing education status. If your license is in active or inactive status you should receive a renewal notice approximately 90 days prior to your expiration date.

Q. What happens if I do not obtain all my continuing education prior to license renewal deadline?
Your license will be placed in an involuntary inactive status.

Check with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations (DBPR) Online Services at www.MyFloridaLicense.com to verify your current continuing education status. If your license is in active or inactive status you should receive a renewal notice approximately 90 days prior to your expiration date. It is the licensee's responsibility to know what your continuing education requirements are, what courses you need to take, and when to take those courses to fulfill your Florida CE requirement.

Q. Are the offered courses approved for credit?

Yes , all appraisal online CE courses offered by Gold Coast Professional Schools through our partnership with Hondros Learning are current and approved by the state of FL for CE credit and are taught by an AQB Certified Instructor. Q. What is the cost of the course(s) and what methods of payment are accepted?

The cost of each course is located in the online course catalog. You may pay using all major credit cards - Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

Q. How do I get a username and password? What do I use it for? What should I do if I forget it?

During the registration process, you select your own username and password. It should be something that you can easily remember. You will use the same username and password each time you log in to access your course(s). This information is entered in the returning students section on the home page of the website. If you forget your username and password, you can either email support@fastclass.com or call 1-866-455-3278.

Q. Can I take the course from various locations and computers?

Our courses are set up for students to access their courses from any computer that is compatible. While you may use the minimal requirements shown below, we recommend using a faster system and faster internet connection. Some courses may take time to download on 56k modem. If your computer is not up to par, the local library should have on-site computers available and connected to the internet free of charge.

Q. How does a course work?

You take the course at your own pace and on your own time. Distance education courses are independent student courses and no classroom hours are required. You can take the course online in small increments or all at once. If you exit out of the course, then log back in at a later time, you start back in the lesson that you had been taking.

Q. How long will it take me to complete a course?

Each course has been approved for a specific number of hours. Depending on the pace you review the course, it may take you less or more time to complete.

Q. How long do I have access to the course?

You have access to the course for up to 12 months from date of purchase.

Q. Can I print any of the course material for future reference?

No. The course is entirely online, so you are unable to print any course materials.

Q. What is required to complete the course?

•  Students must successfully complete all modules of your online course.

•  Students must score at least 80% correct on the end-of-course online exam.

•  The Student must complete the final exam in one session. Students will not be allowed to complete the final exam in segments.

•  Our courses do not require any additional books or study material.

Q. How do I receive my course completion certificate?

After satisfactorily completing your online course, you are given the opportunity to print your course completion certificate directly from your own printer. Should you need a certificate mailed to you directly from Gold Coast Professional Schools please call us at 1-800-940-7277.

Q. How do my hours get submitted for CE credit?

Gold Coast Professional Schools will submit your continuing education completion credit directly to the state of Florida by electronic reporting. All rosters of the attendees must be submitted to the Department by electronic roster according to Department rule.
